Helles Lager Re-Fermented On Raspberries 6.1%

Using the base of our French oak aged helles, we re-fermented this beer on raspberries in ex-chardonnay barrels that had been freshly emptied on a mixed fermentation saison. Raspberries and oak on the nose create a lively and refreshing aroma (reminiscent of a springtime rose garden). The base beer is still present but the plate is complex and tart, showcasing the raspberry and breads malt notes in what is more like a sour beer than a lager. - The Mill
