It has been made since 1883, with the name coming from the comments of a traveller who tasted the beer and declared ‘this beer has sprung from the clutches of the devil himself!’ Pouring a dark brown colour and giving of the expected dried dark fruits aroma, with a healthy dose of Belgian yeast.   Sweet caramel malt and those dark stone fruits like raisins and prunes, brown sugar and even brown bread. -Boon
